- I think your wrong about one thing here, the graphic routines in BLITZ
- are SLOWER than the ones in AMOS. Dont get me wrong the complied code
- is far faster then AMOS (this is what courses the speed difference).
-
- I would just like to put in my 2 pence worth, I know people are going
- to get peed off with the argument but this is what you get for
- mentioning BLITZ on the AMOS List :)
-
- The main reason most people dislike BLITZ when converting (or trying to)
- from AMOS is that its a big drop in the interface and how the system
- works compared to AMOS.
-
- AMOS in itself has everything up and running ready for the user to get
- straight into testing his (rarely her) programming, where as BLITZ needs
- you doto this for it. Most people think this system is shyte but I
- put it this way, it gives you more freedom of what you want to archive.
-
- AMOS`s interface and system is alot more friendly making it ideal for
- the beginner. With it having a Montior and Direct mode, BLITZ`s
- debugger doesnt come near. Although its debugger is more of a ASM
- monitor.
-
- At least BLITZ it still being worked on (Red When Excited) and theres
- even a rumor of BLITZ 3. This is another point which makes BLITZ more
- of a choice than AMOS. I know people are still producing extensions and
- I say `go for it`, this will make AMOS go as far as it can but this
- itself still cant compete with BLITZ`s producers. Unless someone wants
- to make a AMOSPro Plus or sumot :)
-
- Dont get me wrong I love AMOS and still program in it even if its just
- for testing purposes(I wouldnt be on the list otherwise). BLITZ doesnt
- come near to the ease of use and the time it takes to do the job. And
- anyone who says converting code from one to the other is hard is
- nonsence. I do it all the time, testing code in AMOS and then converting
- it BLITZ for the speed.
-
- So my final conclusion is that it all depends on what you want to
- program and archive. Anybody saying `so-and-so language is crap` or
- `that proggy is crap because it was programmed in so-and-so` is
- aload of crap in itself. Every proggy made on this great machine all
- depends on the programmer. Anyone can make a great proggy in what ever
- language they are com with.
